For the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Pokhara Avengers have recruited Sudip Aryal from Nawalpur through a talent hunt. Aryal, an all-rounder, emerged as one of the Gandaki Heroes through this process.
Aryal, who will be playing for Pokhara in the NPL, is the first iconic player selected through the talent hunt. Alongside Aryal, Krishna Paudel and Sohel Kunwar from Kaski, Sandeep Khatri from Syangja, and Sandeep Parajuli from Tanahun were also chosen as Gandaki Heroes. Among them, Aryal stood out and secured his position as an iconic player. The other selected players will join the team for a closed training session.
Pokhara's franchise team had called for applications for Gandaki Heroes on October 19. They received a total of 370 applications, including 250 from Gandaki Province.
Pokhara Avengers President Subodh Tripathi explained that the Gandaki Heroes initiative aims to develop local cricket and young players. The selected Gandaki Heroes will receive training and participate in various competitions throughout the year.
The concept of Gandaki Heroes was introduced to make a substantial contribution to domestic cricket development through franchise cricket. Tripathi emphasized that the Gandaki Heroes will remain active in domestic cricket throughout the year, working on grassroots development to benefit local players.
